Gods in Sleep

The ancient buried statue-like sentinels of a forgotten age litter the landscape of The One Land. Believed to be the slumbering forms of the Old Gods, the peoples of The One Land affectionately call them the Monitors; for it is believed that when the world is in its darkest hour, the Monitors will awaken to reclaim the land.

The monolithic mountain Gal'Jertam holds the buried remains of the Black Wizard. Dwarven craftsmen of long ago carved great faces on the mountain, each facing a direction of the compass. A reminder to the world that darkness heralds from anywhere.

The Wandering Wood

Near the Lonely River to the far east above the Great Flatlands and Elder Forest resides a small but dense forest of a peculiar nature. The Wandering Wood has steadily, over several thousand years, slowly moved across the face of The One Land. The Elves claim that the old trees are sentient beings from the previous age, and that they wander the world looking for a place to rest. They are beings trapped in a world not their own, a world that cannot understand them, so they seek a final resting place to die.

The forest consists of tall slender trees, packed tightly beneath a thick canopy of boughs.
